The scholarship is designed to assist Indigenous people to undertake full-time undergraduate study at a South Australian university, by providing financial assistance towards meeting living and study-related costs.
Applicants must: be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and be accepted as such within their community; be South Australian citizens or permanent residents; be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate course of study at a university in South Australia in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP); demonstrate financial need (i.e. be eligible for ABSTUDY, Austudy, Youth Allowance, etc.); be motivated to undertake the program of studies; and not have previously completed an undergraduate course at any university. Applicants who have undertaken a South Australian university bridging/foundation course immediately prior to undertaking their undergraduate study will also be considered. Selection is based on financial need, the applicant's personal statement, and signed referee statements. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate a commitment to undertake their chosen program of study.
The scholarship is valued at $2,000 per year for up to 4 years.
