The scholarship is provided from a fund established by the late Harold Carroll, a retired grazier, to provide scholarships for deserving students educated in Devonport.
The scholarship is open to commencing students educated in Devonport and enrolling at UTAS. The selection committee will be seeking students who: without the help of a scholarship might not be able to afford to go to university; are of good character and likely to be successful at university; and have already contributed to the community, or are likely to contribute to the community of Devonport over the longer term. In their applications, applicants should ensure that they detail how they meet the criteria for the award.
The scholarship is valued at $4,000 per year for up to 3 years.
