Indigenous Access Scholarships will provide payment to Indigenous higher education students, particularly those from rural or remote areas of Australia who need to relocate to take up an undergraduate course or an approved enabling course.
Applicants must: be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; have accepted a UWS offer in an undergraduate degree program as a commencing student; have not previously completed a degree equivalent to or higher than a bachelor degree; and meet the financial hardship/equity criteria.
The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $4,485 (2012 rate). Recipients will also be awarded an Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship, and, where applicable, an Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship.
