In recognition of the importance of creating opportunities for Indigenous students to complete higher education, La Trobe University has made available up to 10 scholarships annually for Indigenous students commencing studies at any Victorian campus of the university.
Applicants must: be Commonwealth supported students; be of Indigenous Australian descent; be able to demonstrate the capacity to complete undergraduate study; be commencing their first course of undergraduate study; and be enrolled as full-time or part-time students at a Victorian campus of La Trobe University. Applicants who have already commenced a bachelor degree or higher level award are ineligible to apply. Applicants may concurrently hold another scholarship offered by La Trobe University or another organisation.
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 per year, paid in 2 equal instalments. Part-time scholarships are valued at $2,500 per year. Tenure is for the normal duration of the course, including honours if applicable.
