The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student (excluding honours) wishing to undertake 1 semester of study overseas. It aims to promote international understanding and advance the academic development of students by enabling them to spend part of their degree in an approved overseas institution where they will undertake studies.
Applicants must: be Australian citizens; be enrolled full-time in the later years of an undergraduate degree (excluding honours); and be proposing to undertake an approved international exchange program that will count towards their degree. Preference will be given to students who wish to undertake their studies at an institution in Asia. Selection is based on academic merit, purpose/appropriateness of intended study, and contribution of the overseas experience to personal development.
The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $5,000 for 1 semester only.
