Ray Hart Memorial Scholarship
Agriculture, Veterinary and Environmental Sciences
The scholarship is offered in memory of Dr Ray Hart, a graduate of the university who worked as an ecologist and environmental scientist. Dr Hart's work covered all aspects of flora, vegetation and fauna ecology and his focus was always to achieve sound environmental management through the integration of environmental principles in projects. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and assist a student to pursue field research in natural history.
Applicants must: be enrolled in a course offered by the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences; be undertaking honours or postgraduate studies, or undertaking the Level 4 project for their undergraduate degree course; and be undertaking research that includes a substantial field component and displays a multidisciplinary approach to an ecological question. Selection is based on: commitment to developing skills in field ecological research; strong work ethic; commitment to apply field research to achieve a broad and pragmatic insight into interdisciplinary ecological studies; enthusiasm and commitment to communicate with peers and the wider community; and academic merit. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.
The scholarship is valued at $3,500.
