The bursary was established by the university in 2001 in memory of Catherine King, a 2nd-year business student.
Applicants must be 1st-year undergraduate students from the Gympie Regional Council area who are the first in their family to attend university. Selection is based on academic success and financial need. Consideration will also be given to connection to the town of Imbil.
The bursary is valued at $1,000.
