The bursary has been established to assist students from low socio-economic backgrounds.
Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be enrolled or about to commence study in an undergraduate course, or a graduate diploma (or equivalent postgraduate course of study) in an area National Priority; be enrolled full time as Commonwealth supported students; not have compelted the requirements of a course of study equivalent to or higher than an Australian bachelors award unless such an award is a prerequisite to the current undergraduate course of study or the current course is in the area of National Priority; and be able to demonstrate financial hardship. Eligible courses are: all associate degrees, all bachelor degrees, all honours degrees, Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), Graduate Diploma in Midwifery, Master of Teaching (Primary), and Master of Teaching (Secondary).
The scholarships are valued at $2,000 as a one-off payment.
