Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents; have a Queensland overall position score (OP) of 5+; have completed their final year of school within 2 years of applying for the scholarship; and be enrolling in an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences as a full-time student. Selection is based on: academic merit or potential; involvement in school or community; communication skills; other achievements (e.g. sporting, musical, debating); reasons for choosing to stay in university accommodation; motivation to succeed in chosen field; and demonstrated leadership.
The scholarship provides accommodation and meals at any one of the on-campus accommodation residences in Townsville or at one of the student residences in Cairns up to the maximum value of $8,500.
