George Brown Memorial Scholarship

The Darwin City Council has established, through the Charles Darwin University's Foundation, the George Brown Memorial Scholarship to honour George's contribution to the environmental development of Darwin.
Applicants must: be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a horticulture, land management or environmental science course at Charles Darwin University; have demonstrated passion, ability and initiative in promoting the aesthetic and/or environmental health of the Darwin environment; be Australian citizens or permanent residents; and have an appropriate academic record.
The scholarship is valued at $3,000 for 1 year, payable in 2 equal instalments shortly after the census date in semester 1 and 2. The recipient will also be offered vocational employment with the Darwin City Council in semester breaks during the year of the scholarship.
