Each year Rotary Clubs around the world are invited to recommend candidates for the Georgia Rotary Student Program Scholarships. The program's aim is to promote world understanding and peace through the means of education. Rotary Clubs throughout the state of Georgia choose the student they wish to sponsor as well as the school the student will attend.
Applicants are required to be recommended by a Rotary club in Australia. Applicants must: be aged between 18 and 24 years; be single; and not have studied in the USA previously. The scholarship is available for any undergraduate study program at a Georgia college or university, but excluding study in the areas of medicine, dentistry and nursing.
The scholarship pays for tuition, books, campus housing and food. The student must provide their own transport to and from the US, medical insurance, spending money and any income taxes imposed on the scholarship by the US Treasury.
