The Margaret George Award is designed to help talented, emerging scholars complete an innovative and quality research project that is significant for Australian audiences and makes substantial use of the collection.
Successful applicants could be emergent historians, academics, independent researchers or journalists with a talent for research. It is desirable that applicants have a record of achievement in their chosen field and the potential to excel further.
Fellows will be provided with an allowance up to a maximum of $10,000. A budget must be provided with the application. It is envisaged that a full-time fellowship would be for a maximum of 3 months and a part-time fellowship for no more than 12 months.
