Xstrata Coal Indigenous Undergraduate Scholarship

The scholarship was established in 2009 to attract Indigenous students with good academic records and pursuing a degree in a mining related discipline.
Applicants must: be Australian Indigenous students; be enrolled in or intending to enrol in a program within the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Surveying specialisations), Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management or Bachelor of Science major; be enrolled full time; not hold another scholarship; and not be under bond or committed to an employer in a way that would prevent the availability to undertake paid University vacation employment if provided by Xstrata.
The scholarship is valued at $10,000 for 1 year, paid as 2 lump sum payments of $5,000 each semester. Xstrata Coal may offer recipient paid industry vacation employment for 3 months for commencing and continuing students from December to February.
