The scholarship is designed to assist graduate students, post-doctoral scholars and other researchers to travel to the library for 1-3 weeks to use its collections.
Applicants must be engaged in advanced research. Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants whose projects have application to enduring public policy and foreign policy issues and that have a high probability of being published or publicly disseminated in some other way. Consideration will be given to the applicant's development as a scholar. An individual may receive no more than 2 research grants in a 5-year period.
The grant is valued at up to US$2,500, to be used to offset expenses of research. Budgets are calculated on the following basis: US$75 per day for lodging and meals; airfare based on the best advance coach fare available; and up to US$100 allowance for photocopying.
