The scholarship provides assistance to Indigenous students commencing tertiary study.
Applicants must be of Indigenous descent. Preference will be given to applicants who need to relocate from rural or remote areas to access an approved higher education enabling course or undergraduate course.
The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $4,485 (2012 rate). Recipients will also be awarded an Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship, and, where applicable, an Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship.
