The scholarship was established in 2008 to encourage Australian Rules Football players to enrol and undertake a tertiary education and at the same time play Australian Football with the NSW Central Coast based club, Killarney Vale.
Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be male; be enrolled in any degree program at the University of Newcastle; and be Australian Rules Football players with state or regional honours, or be sufficiently talented and have experience playing in an accomplished and credible competition.
The scholarship is valued at $2,500 for 1 year, paid in instalments of $1,500 after the semester 1 census date, and $1,000 after the semester 2 census date.
