The Indigenous Access Scholarship (IAS) is a Commonwealth Government initiative to support indigenous students to access higher education.
Applicants must: be Indigenous Australians; be commencing tertiary study for the first time; and have to relocate from a regional or remote area to undertake their studies.
The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $4,485 (2012 rate). Recipients will also be awarded an Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship, and, where applicable, an Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship.
