The Zero Waste SA Pam Keating Memorial Scholarship for Honours Students has been established in memory of Pam Keating, a noted environmentalist and waste management expert, who passionately believed in the importance of reducing waste and its impact on our environment, and was committed to education and training for sustainability.
The scholarship is available to full-time students undertaking an honours program in an area of interest to the Zero Waste SA Research Centre. These areas include: behaviour change; measuring consumption and ecological footprints; resource efficiency and life cycle measurement; and decision making. Selection is based on academic merit (Grade Point Average) and an interview. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and have the ability to be a positive ambassador for the objectives of Zero Waste SA.
The scholarship is valued at $10,000, paid in 2 instalments of $5,000 after the study period 2 and study period 5 census dates. Recipients will also be offered 6 hours of informal mentoring or in-kind assistance by Zero Waste SA and may have the opportunity to undertake paid employment at Zero Waste SA during the summer vacation period.
