The scholarship provides funding for full-time study at an institution assigned by The Rotary Foundation Trustees.
Applicants must have completed at least 2 years of university or college coursework or must have a secondary school education and have been employed in a recognised vocation for at least 2 years when the scholarship begins. All applicants must be citizens of a country in which there is a Rotary Club. Initial application must be made through a local Rotary Club in the applicant's legal or permanent residence or place of full-time study or employment. Persons with disabilities and members of Rotaract Clubs are eligible and encouraged to apply.
Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships provide funding for 1 academic year of study in another country. This award is intended to help defray costs associated with round-trip transportation tuition fees, room and board expenses and some educational supplies at a flat grant amount of US$27,000 or equivalent.
