The award is intended to help a woman over 25 complete her first undergraduate degree at a Western Australian university.
Applicants must: be women aged 25 years or over as of 15 December in the year of application; be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be studying towards their first undergraduate degree; have successfully completed at least the first year of their degree; not hold a scholarship, other award or receive financial assistance under bond to an employer; and be able to demonstrate the need for financial assistance. Selection is based on: university academic achievement; demonstrated need for financial assistance; extra-curricular activities, community and voluntary work; and extent of demonstrated leadership abilities impacting on the broader community.
The scholarship is valued at up to $2,000 for 1 year. It may be split into 2 x $1,000 awards.
