This newly created position will be based in Sydney, with reporting to both an Australia based and Japan based manager. The successful candidate will be expected to travel significantly within Australia, with some overseas travel required.
This position is responsible for establishing local clinical research programs to:
a) help validate products and explore the full potential for various clinical applications and features;
b) document and publish the advanced capabilities, and;
c) support other entities as a subject matter expert in this area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Establish and maintain research programs with selected Toshiba sites.
? Build on current relationships with Toshiba key opinion leaders at luminary sites.
? Become part of the site?s research team and adhere to institution?s rules and regulations.
? Provide feedback on required solutions to new technical needs identified by luminary sites.
? Support and perform research activities with selected clinical partners and create formal journal publications and whitepapers.
? Support the installation, configuration, validation, troubleshooting and refinement of cutting-edge prototype and early release products.
? Set up quality control for clinical trials.
? Help to analyze/design IQ measurements.
? Encourage and support submission of grant application to various funding agencies to offset cost of the research at the site.
? Protect Toshiba Intellectual Property, respect the Intellectual Property of the site, and communicate with the Director of Clinical Programs about potential opportunities or threats.
? Submit progress and quarterly reports to Toshiba R&D management in Japan.
? Assist with education and training programs based at various sites for visiting international radiologists and technologists to train on Toshiba?s latest high-end products.
? Present talks regarding Toshiba imaging technology and related research and development.
? Participate in site?s own scientific production.
What we are looking for:
? PhD in Medical Physics or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training , preferably in a university hospital setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Modality expertise including: basic science, IQ, dose, technology, reconstruction and hardware design.
? Application expertise including: perfusion methods, anatomy/physiology familiarity, analysis methods, disease states and processes.
? Understand technical abilities of imaging modalities, in particular CT scanners.
? Experience with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
? Experience writing speeches and articles for publications that conform to prescribed style and format both for technical review and in layman?s terms.
? Effectively present information to a variety of people, including senior management, groups, and/or board of directors.
